National U17/Senior Championships Highlights

Over the weekend, 24 Livingston athletes were in action at Grangemouth Stadium for the Scottish National U17/Senior Championships.

Congratulations to Sarah Calvert, Kishi Aremu, Matthew Power, Hazel Shanley, Alannah Snowden, Finlay Cunningham and Finlay Menzies who all won medals!

Sarah Calvert won double gold medals in the Senior Womens 800m and 1500m to repeat her achievement from last year.

In the U17 Womens sprints, Kishi Aremu won the 100m with a personal best and club record of 11.83, and was second in the 200m in 24.57.

Matthew Power and Finlay Menzies both won double golds in the men's para events, with Matthew winning the ambulant 100m and 200m, and Finlay winning the frame running 100m and 400m.

Hazel Shanley won a silver medal in the Senior Womens triple jump.

Alannah Snowden won a bronze medal in the U17 Womens long jump with a wind assisted club record of 5.52m (+2.2).

Finaly Cunningham also won a bronze medal, finishing 3rd in the U17 Mens 200m.

Well done to everyone who competed - another three athletes set improved personal bests in the windy conditions!
