Eight athletes made the short trip across the Forth to Dunfermline for the Pitreavie Young Athletes Trophy Meeting last Sunday.

The warm temperature and virtually wind free conditions made for some outstanding personal performances and club records.

Trophies were presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each final.

U13 Girls

Tia Henry was first in her 100m heat and 3rd in the final in 14.32; in the 70m hurdles Tia finished first in her heat and 5th in the final with a new Personal Best (PB) and Club Record (CR) of 12.27; and finally 3rd in the high jump with 1.25m.

Rachel Gibb recorded 2:55.20 for the 800m; 3.51m for the long jump and a PB of 4.85m for the Shot Putt.

Taylor-Marie Leek recorded 15.62 for the 100m; 3.08.27 for the 800m and 3.04m for the long jump which are all PB's.

U15 Girls

Taygan Henry recorded a PB of 28.65 in her 200m heat; 12.67 and 12.66 in her 75m hurdles heat and final to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively and very close to her PB of 12.65. To finish the day Taygan jumped 1.45m for a PB in the high jump.

U11 Boys

Fraser Morris started the day with a PB and CR in the 150m heat to finish 1st in 21.82. In the final a time of 22.09 also secured 1st place. In the 600m another PB and CR of 1:52.50 secured 1st place with a determined finish to beat the Giffnock North athlete. A long jump of 3.23m rounded off the day.

U13 Boys

Aidan Brady finished 3rd in his 200m heat in 29.68 and 6th in the 800m final with a time of 2.31.68 both times very close to his PB’s.

U17 Men

Grant Kirkwood finished a lone 1st in the discus with a PB throw of 28.65m. Unfortunately Grant was DQ'd in the 100m

Although the event was entitled "Young Athletes Trophy Meeting" they did manage to slip in two senior races and in the David Wood 100m handicap race Gary Leek won in a blanket finish off a 14m start.

All in all an excellent days athletics with outstanding performances from the Livingston athletes.

Sandra Hardacre who was officiating on the day deserved a medal for her sprint across the infield to adjudicate at the unwinding of the stagger for the 800m races.
