Scottish Schools Track & Field Championships

Ten Livingston athletes were at Grangemouth on 7th/8th June for the Scottish Schools Track & Field Championships.

In the u14 events, Chloe McAlear progressed through the 100m heats and semis to reach the final in which she finished 8th in 13.77. Robyn Fairley finished 6th in her 100m semi with a time of 13.85 and Kirsty McFadyen set a personal best in her 100m heat with 14.53.

In the 200m, Robyn reached the final and finished 6th in 28.36. Chloe progressed to the semis and finished her semi-final race 4th in 28.63. Kirsty was 4th in her heat in 30.31. Robyn and Kirsty were also doing the long jump, with Robyn jumping 3.61m and Kirsty jumping 3.32m.

In the u15 age group, Hazel Shanley set a personal best in her 100m heat with a time of 13.25 which secured her a place in the final. Hazel was 6th in the final in 13.31. Sydney Nicholson set a personal best in her 100m heat with 13.82. Taygan Henry was 6th in her heat in 14.02.

In the 200m, Hazel was 3rd in her heat with 28.67 and Sydney was 5th in heat 2 in 30.20. Taygan was 3rd in her 75m hurdles heat in 13.00 and also equalled her personal best in the high jump with 1.40m.

In the u17 events, Chloe Naismith set a personal best in the 300m with a time of 45.97 in heat 2. Jade Wilson was 5th in her 100m heat with 14.12.

Andrew Mitchell was 2nd in his u17 800m heat with 2:05.07 and progressed to the final in which he finished 8th in 2:09.59.

In the o17 age group, Eileen Hulse was 5th in the triple jump with a jump of 9.03m.
