National Indoor Age Group Championships

On the first weekend in March, fifteen club athletes were back at the Emirates Arena for the last time this season to compete in the National Indoor Age Group Championships!

Highlights from the weekend included medal wins from Robbie Nairn and Chloe McAlear.

Robbie won a gold medal in the u18 mens shot putt with a throw of 15.03m.

In the u14 girls 200m, Chloe won a bronze medal with a personal best time of 28.19 after running 28.48 in the heats and 28.51 in the semis. Chloe also finished 5th in the shot putt with a throw of 7.28m.

There were also strong performances from Sarah Calvert in the u14 girls 800m and Hazel Shanley in the u16 girls 60m.

Sarah ran 2:33.17 in her 800m heat to qualify for the final and then ran 2:33.38 to finish 7th in the final.

Hazel finished 2nd in her 60m heat with a time of 8.41 and then ran 8.37 in the semi final to set a new personal best.

Well done also to the other athletes who set improved personal bests over the weekend.
