Congratulations to Robbie Nairn who won a gold medal last week representing Scottish Schools in the shot putt at the Sainsbury's 2012 School Games - held at the Olympic Stadium in London!

Robbie was lying in second place with one round to go, but a personal best throw of 16.15m saw him clinch gold by just 3cm!

Robbie was selected after his gold medal performance in the shot putt at the Scottish Schools Indoor Championships in February.

The Sainsbury's 2012 School Games is a multi-sport event for the UK's elite young athletes of school age. The Sainsbury's 2012 School Games was held in the Olympic Park and other Olympic venues last week to build on the excitement of the 2012 Games. Over 1600 athletes were competing in 12 different sports.
