Fourteen Livingston athletes were at Meadowbank Stadium, Edinburgh, last weekend to get some early season competition practice at the Lothian & Borders Open Meeting.

Five athletes set new personal bests despite the cold and windy conditions: Sarah Calvert ran 2:58.28 in the u11g 800m; Fraser McLean jumped 3.47m in the u13b long jump; Jake Thomas ran 2:07.90 in the u15b 800m, narrowly missing 1st place; Calum Gregory jumped 4.25m in the u17m long jump; and Vicky Dalziel threw 26.12m in the senior womens discus, which was also a club u20w record!

The strong tailwind on the home straight also helped a few of the club's sprinters set "wind assisted" bests; Elliot Stanton ran 14.48 in the u15b 100m; Shawn Wright ran 12.09 in the u17m 100m and 24.36 in the 200m; and Calum Gregory ran 13.44 in the u17m 100m and 28.07 in the 200m.
