Last Friday and Saturday, 17 Livingston athletes represented their schools in the Scottish Schools Track & Field Championship at Grangemouth Stadium.
On Friday, Isla Calvert successfully defended her Scottish Schools U17W 1500m title, winning the gold medal in 4:43.28 with a 9 second lead.
There was also a double celebration for the club in the O17W 1500m. Sarah Calvert defended her title to win the gold medal in 4:37.93, just outside the championship best performance and Katie Craig finished second to secure the silver medal.
On Saturday, Isla broke the U17W 800m Scottish Record, with a personal best run of 2:06.33 also securing her the Scottish Schools U17W 800m title, adding to the 1500m title she won on Friday. This is also Isla's 4th Scottish Schools 800m/1500m double, having dominated the Scottish Schools endurance events for her age group over the last two seasons.
Sarah also won her second medal of the weekend on Saturday, adding the O17W 800m title to the 1500m title she won on Friday, and repeating the 800m/1500m double she did at the Scottish Schools Indoor Championships in 2018.
In the U17M 800m heats, Alastair Marshall set a personal best of 1:59.36 to secure a place in the final, then ran sub-2 minutes again to win the silver medal.
