2018 Club Championships - Arrangements

 14 September 2018

Arrangements for the Club Championships on Sunday:

Timetable

The final timetable is available below.

Track events will be seeded based on age group, with the heats ordered youngest to oldest.

Please listen for any changes in the timetable. If you have a clash of field/track events, track events take priority, but please report to your field event first and return to your field event immediately after the track event has finished.

Declarations

Declarations open at 10.00 am in the athletics pavilion (overlooking the finish line), and will close 30 minutes before the published start time of each event. Please declare for all your events at your first visit.

Vest numbers should be worn front and back with each number secured by 4 safety pins, except high jump where only a front number is required.

Refreshments / BBQ

Tea/coffee, home baking and filled rolls will be available throughout the day in the club room overlooking the 100m start.

There will also be a barbeque selling burgers from about 12.00 pm.

We'd appreciate more donations of home baking please, and we're also looking for 4 more parents to make 6 filled rolls each. Please reply if you can help with the rolls.

Club Kit

Club kit including vests, crop tops, hoodies and tracksuit bottoms will be available for purchase from the pavilion.

Hoodies can be ordered if your size is not in stock. We are also taking orders for waterproof jackets.

New members don't need to wear a club vest and trainers are fine if you don't have spikes yet, unless it's raining in which case spikes would be required for certain events.

Toilets / Changing Rooms

Toilets and changing rooms are available in the main sports centre building.

Spectators

Spectators should remain outside of the track and field competition areas at all times. Athletes should also avoid crossing the finish line when they're not competing and another race is in progress, as this may interfere with the photofinish.

The infield is restricted to technical officials only, please walk around the outside of the track when moving around the arena.

Please don't bring dogs into the arena, the entire sports centre complex is a dog-free zone.

Parental Assistance

It takes a big team of officials and volunteers to run athletics competitions.

We’re looking for another 10 parents to help with field events and relay changeovers (no experience necessary), so that everyone only needs to help for about 1 hour on the day.

We'd also appreciate more donations of home baking please, and we're also looking for 4 more parents to make 6 filled rolls each.

Please reply to this email if you can help with any of the above?

Medley Relay

Teams for the Medley Relay were drawn randomly at the end of the training session on Wednesday night and are available via the link below.

If anyone forgot to enter and wants to be added to the reserve list, please speak to the declarations team on Sunday.

Also, if you decide to withdraw from the relay, please let the declarations team know.

Chocolate & Bottle Tombola

We're collecting chocolate and bottle donations for a tombola on Sunday.

Donations can be handed in at training tonight or at declarations on Sunday morning.
