Forth Valley League Availability - Sat 26 May

The second round of the Forth Valley League (FVL) takes place at Craigswood Sports Centre on Saturday 26 May.

There are two Livingston teams entered so that every athlete in the club has the opportunity to compete in the Forth Valley League. For any new members, the Forth Valley League is an ideal introduction to league competition.

The "A" team compete in Division 1 and the "B" team compete in Division 3. At this round, the Division 1 match is in the afternoon between 1.45 pm and 4.45 pm, and the Division 3 match is in the morning between 9.45 am and 1.15 pm. Athletes should be at the venue 1 hour before their match starts.

The league final on Saturday 23 June is a full day match for both teams.

Age Groups

All club members in the Under 11 to Under 15 age groups are eligible and expected to compete in this league.

Athletes must be at least 9 years of age on the day of competition.

U11: Born 01/09/2007 or later
U13: Born 01/09/2005 - 31/08/2007
U15: Born 01/09/2003 - 31/08/2005

Transport

As the venues are all local, there is no club transport provided for any Forth Valley League matches.

Availability

Please use the availability form to let to let the team managers know if you're available or not for this match. For league matches, availability forms should always be submitted, even if you're not available!

The last date to confirm availability is midnight on Sunday 13 May.

Selection

Once the availability period has closed, the team managers will get feedback from lead coaches on the athletes who are available, and then they will select the teams. The provisional teams sheets are usually posted in the pavilion and emailed during the week before the competition.

As this is a half-day team competition with only 2 places per event per team, most athletes will only be doing 1 or 2 events, and may not be doing their favourite event! At league matches, the emphasis is on participation and competing as a part of a team, with all selected club members expected to take part.

The points scoring system means that it's important that we have competitors in all events at a match. Athletes that do an event for the first time "to get a point" are just as important a part of the team as the athletes that win events.
