Availability
Please use the
availability form to let to let the team managers know if you're available or not for this match. For league matches, availability forms should always be submitted, even if you are not available!
The last date to confirm availability is midnight on Wednesday 18 October.
Under 17 and Under 20 athletes should be speaking to their lead coach before submitting their availability.
Selection
Once the availability period has closed, the team managers will get feedback from lead coaches on the athletes who are available, and then they will select the teams. The provisional teams sheets are usually posted in the pavilion on the Wednesday before the competition and emailed on Thursday.
As this is a half-day team competition with only 2 places per event per club, most athletes will only be doing 1 or 2 events, and may not be doing their favourite event!
At league matches, the emphasis is on participation and competing as a part of a team, with all selected club members expected to take part.
The points scoring system means that it's important that we have competitors in all events at a match. Athletes that do an event for the first time "to get a point" are just as important a part of the team as the athletes that win events.
Also, there are one or two age groups where we have a large number of athletes which means, because this is a league match with a limited number of places per team, we may not be able to accommodate absolutely everyone who wants to compete.
