National Combined Events Championships

The club had another successful trip to the Emirates Arena for the Scottish Combined Events Championships at the start of March with Livingston & District AAC represented by 5 athletes.

The pentathlon consists of 5 events; 60m hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot putt and 800m.

Tia Henry had a very successful day bringing home a bronze medal in the U14 Girls Pentathlon with a personal best score of 2344. Tia also set personal best performances in the 60m hurdles, long jump, shot putt and 800m. To add to this she was only 3cm away from equalling her personal best of 1.30m in the high jump.

Rebecca Calder, who finished 13th overall with 1540 points, broke personal bests in the 60m hurdles, long jump and 800m. Karli MacCallum also had an outstanding performance in the high jump breaking her personal best by an impressive 20cm, finishing 14th overall in the Pentathlon with 1369 points.

Also in the U14 Girls events, Rachel Gibb narrowly missed setting new personal bests with excellent performances in the high jump and 60m hurdles.

In the U14 Boys pentathlon, Aidan Brady also brought home a bronze medal with personal bests in 60m hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot putt and an overall score of 1126. This was Aidan's first time competing in the pentathlon!

In the U16 Girls pentathlon, Taygan Henry finished 4th with a massive overall personal best score of 2833 points. Taygan also set personal bests in the 60m hurdles and shot putt.
