The Livingston athletes headed back from Glasgow's Kelvin Hall Indoor Arena on Sunday with an array of medals after a weekend of glittering performances.

Of the fourteen club athletes that competed in twenty-seven different events, eight athletes won a total of four gold medals, five silver medals and one bronze medal, making the weekend one of the club's most successful East District Indoor Championship performances in recent years.

In the under 13 boys 60m on Saturday, Callum McDonald and Robbie Nairn progressed through their heats before going head-to-head in the final. Robbie Nairn crossed the line first to win a gold medal with a personal best of 8.7, while Callum McDonald was narrowly beaten into 4th place while setting a personal best of 9.0.

Robbie also picked up a silver medal in the under 13 boys shot putt and set a new personal best with a throw of 7.68m.

Callum was back on Sunday to contest the under 13 boys long jump, where a jump of 3.89m gave him a personal best and a silver medal.

The long jump/60m double also proved to be a successful combination for under 15 athlete, and junior male captain, Scott Henderson. In the 60m, a personal best of 8.04 gave Scott a 2nd place finish and a silver medal, while he narrowly missed a bronze medal in the long jump with a personal best . of 4.70m.

Rhiannon Armstrong also picked up a silver medal in the 60m, taking 0.04s off her time from the heats with a run of 8.56 in the under 15 girls final.

In the under 17 women's 60m hurdles, junior female captain Vicky Dalziel set a personal best in her heat, with a time of 9.11, before going on to win a gold medal in a closely fought final. Vicky then went on to collect her second gold medal of the weekend, with a throw of 8.57m in the shot putt.

In the other under 17 women's events, Alice Fisher picked up a silver medal in the high jump, with a height of 1.35m.

The club's endurance athletes were also on top form. In the under 13 boys 800m, Jake Thomas, competing in his first 800m for the club, picked up a gold medal with an impressive time of 2:37.6 putting him 10 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher, while in the under 15 boys 800m, Andrew Boxall's personal best of 2:37.7 put him comfortably into the bronze medal spot.

Other athletes setting personal bests over the weekend included; Megan Laing, in the under 13 girls shot putt, finishing in 4th place with a personal best throw of 5.05m; and Isla Bruce, with a time of 8.93 giving her a 2nd place finish in her under 15 girls 60m heat.
