East District Cross Country League 2 Results

At the end of November, there was a great turnout of 25 Livingston athletes for the second round of the East District Cross Country League.

The races took place at Dechmont Law Park, Livingston, with distances ranging from 1.5K for the u11s up to 9.6K for the senior men.

In the under 11 girls race, Isla Calvert put in a fantastic performance to finish 1st again, completing the 1.5K course in 6:19. Rachel Gibb was 12th in 7:05, Rebecca Calder was 13th in 7:05 and Helena Cutajar was 35th in 8:41. The girls were the 2nd fastest u11 girls team overall.

There was also a full team in the u11 boys race. Aidan Brady was 13th, running the 1.5K course in 6:23. Fraser Morris was 15th in 6:26, Alastair Marshall was 33rd in 6:50 and Murray McFadyen was 75th in 8:05, which placed the u11 boys 5th in the team standings.

In the 2.5K under 13 girls race, Hannah Mairs was 37th in 11:26, Kirsty McFadyen was 39th in 11:35 and Tia Henry was 44th 11:49. The under 13 boys were running the same course with Jason Gregory finishing 20th in 10:00 and Fraser Mackay finishing 58th in 12:56.

Taygan Henry was 19th with a time of 15:58 for the 3.5K under 15 course and Louisa Marshall was 21st in 16:14. In the boys race, Fraser McLean was 45th in 16:57. Audrey Shanks-Rubinos was 23rd in the u17 womens race with a time of 18:40.

Jake Thomas won the u17 mens race, completing the 6.4K course in 22:28. Andrew Mitchell was 16th in 25:46 and Ryan White was 29th in 29:05. The boys were 5th fastest team overall.

The senior women also ran the 6.4K course and for the first time in several years we had a full team out. Avril Pearson finished 29th overall in 27:49, Yvonne Crilly was 40th in 28:38, Louise Crilly was 48th in 29:16 and Robyn McDowall was 86th in 32:09.

In the senior mens race, covering a distance of 9.6K over 3 laps, Steve Thomson was 115th overall with a time of 40:55.

The third and final round of the East District Cross Country League takes place at Broxburn on Saturday 12th January.
