East District Cross Country League 1 Results

Two weeks ago, there was an impressive turnout of 18 Livingston athletes for the first round of the East District Cross Country League.

The races took place at Stirling University with distances ranging from 1.6K for the u11s up to 9K for the senior men.

In the under 11 girls race, Isla Calvert put in a fantastic performance to finish 1st, completing the 1.6K course in 6:04. Rachel Gibb was close behind, finishing 5th in 6:25.

Aidan Brady was 6th in the u11 boys race, running the 1.6K course in 5:44. Alastair Marshall was 16th in 6:04 and Arron Black was 34th in 6:29 which placed the three u11 boys 4th in the team standings.

In the 2.8K under 13 girls race, Sarah Calvert was 3rd in 11:05 and Hannah Mairs was 21st in 12:37. The under 13 boys were also running the same course with Jason Gregory finishing 15th in 11:00.

There was also a full team in the u15 girls race. Taygan Henry was 12th with a time of 12:44 for the 3.2K course, Katie Marshall was 17th in 13:07 and Louisa Marshall was 20th in 13:42. Stuart Garvin was 36th in the u15 boys race, finishing the same course in 12:20. Audrey Shanks-Rubinos was 14th in the u17 womens race with a time of 15:27.

Jake Thomas finished 5th in the u17 mens race, completing the 6K course in 21:25. Andrew Mitchell was 26th in 25:52.

The senior women also ran the 6K course with Avril Pearson finishing 19th overall and 5th master in 26:02. Yvonne Crilly 32nd overall and 11th master in 26:42.

In the senior mens race, covering a distance of 9K over 3 laps, Steve Thomson was 105th overall and 34th master with a time of 37:22.

The second round of the East District Cross Country League takes place at Dechmont Law Park, Livingston, on Saturday 24th November.
