National Indoor Age Group Champs Results

Kelvin Hall Arena was host to the Scottish National Indoor Age Group Championships for the last time over the weekend, with next seasons's indoor events moving to the new National Indoor Sporting Arena in East Glasgow.

Three club athletes were in action in the Under 18 and Under 20 Championships on Saturday, with another three competing in the Under 14 and Under 16 Championships on Sunday.

In the u18 800m, Jake Thomas finished his heat in second place with a new personal best of 2:03.71 to secure a place in the final. In the final, Jake reduced his PB by almost 3 seconds to pick up a bronze medal with a fantastic time of 2:00.98.

Scott Henderson set a new personal best in the u20 60m, finishing 2nd in his heat with a time of 7.28 to qualify for the final. Scott also collected a bronze medal, coming in 3rd in the final in 7.34.

In the u20 400m, Shawn also managed to set a personal best in his heat, finishing 3rd in 52.30. This also secured Shawn a slot in the final, in which he finished 5th in 52.45 after another strong performance.

On Sunday, Robbie Nairn threw a massive 17.02m in the u16 shot putt to win a gold medal and set a new best with the 4kg shot. Robbie's throw was over 4m ahead of second place!

In the u14 60m, Robyn Fairley was 3rd in her heat with a new personal best of 9.08 which secured her a place in the semi finals. In the semis, Robyn ran 9.08 again. Robyn was also 5th in her 200m heat with a time of 31.41.

Chloe McAlear was also competing in the u14 200m. In a fast heat, Chloe finished 4th with a new best of 30.31 which secured her a place in the next round. In the semis, Chloe set another PB with a time of 30.21. Chloe was also 4th in her 800m heat with a time of 2:48.93 and 7th overall in the shot putt with 5.69m.
