East District Cross Country League 3 Results

Last weekend there was a fantastic turnout of Livingston athletes for the third and final round of the East District Cross Country League with 17 athletes starting!

The races took place in parkland north of Broxburn Academy with distances ranging from approximately 1.8K for the u11s up to 9.0K for the senior men.

In the under 11 girls race, Sarah Calvert put in an outstanding performance to win the race in a time of 7:31. Holly White and Helena Cutajar, representing the club for the first time at cross country, finished 33rd and 34th with times of 10:21 and 10:40. Overall the under 11 girls were 6th out of 14 teams on the day, and 7th out of 18 teams for the season.

Alastair Marshall was 25th in the u11 boys race, completing the course in 8:29, while Finlay Cook, making his cross country debut, was 37th in 8:54.

For the second time this season there was a full under 13 girls team. In the 2.5K race, Louisa Marshall was 22nd in 11:11, Taygan Henry was 25th in 11:36 and Hannah Mairs was 26th in 11:39. In the team placings the girls finished 5th out of 17 teams on the day and 7th out of 19 teams for the season!

The under 13 boys were also running the 2.5K course. Nathan Campbell was 37th with a time of 10:56 and Fraser McLean was 45th in 11:49.

For the first team this season the under 15 boys had a full team. Andrew Mitchell, in his club cross country debut, completed the 4K course in 16:03 to finish 20th, Calum McLean was 37th in 20:04 and Alastair White was 38th in 20:41. The boys were placed 5th out of 17 teams.

In the u17 mens race, Ryan White was 22nd with a time of 29:22 for the two lap 6K course.

Yvonne Crilly completed the same course in 25:05, which placed her 28th overall and 9th master.

In the senior mens race, covering a distance of 9K over 3 laps, Steve Thomson was 126th overall and 43rd master with a time of 36:47.

The final cross country race of the season is the National Championships at Callendar Park, Falkirk, on Saturday 18th February. This event is pre-entry only and entries closes on Friday 27th January. If anyone wants to enter, please contact Alistair ASAP.
