Six Livingston athletes were in Stirling last Saturday for the first race in the East District Cross Country League.

The races took place on the University of Stirling campus with distances ranging from 1.6K for the u11s up to 9K for the senior men.

In the under 11 girls race, Sarah Calvert put in an impressive performance to finish 6th, completing the 1.6K course in 6:01.

Alastair Marshall, making has cross country debut, was 23rd in the u11 boys race, running the 1.6K course in 6:23.

The under 13s were running 2.8K, with Louisa Marshall finishing the girls race 12th in 12:26 while Fraser McLean was 42nd in the boys race in 13:14.

In the u15 girls race, Katie Marshall was 14th with a time of 13:00 for the 3.2K course.

And in the senior mens race Steve Thomson finished 103rd with a time of 37:40 for the 9K course.
