Winter 2011/2012 Fixture List

The fixture list for the 2011/2012 winter season has now been finalised and is available on the fixtures page or can be printed using the link below.

Indoor Track & Field Fixtures:
The main indoor "track & field" events for all club athletes will be the Scottish Athletics Indoor League, with matches in November, December and January in Glasgow. There is also a reserve date in February if any of the other matches are cancelled and a final in March for the top teams. Availability details for the first match will be released in mid-October. All athletes training on a Wednesday night are expected to take part in the Indoor League.
For additional competition there is a National Indoor Open Meeting in January, and for higher level competition there are National Championships throughout February and early March. Further details about registering for these events will be posted on the club website during the Winter season.
The Scottish Schools Indoor Championships is on Thursday 9th February. Any athletes wanting to take part should contact their PE teacher.
For U12 athletes (born 2001/2002) there is an U12 SuperTeams Championships in February. This requires teams of 4 boys or 4 girls, with every athlete doing a run, jump and throw plus a relay at the end.

Cross-Country Fixtures:
The main cross country events are the three East District League matches with the first round at Stirling in October, the second round at Livingston in November and the third round at Broxburn in January. There is no selection or pre-entry for this league, any club member can turn up on the day and compete.
For additional competition there are Championships throughout the Winter. The East District Championships are in Aberdeen in December, the Masters Championships are at Kilmarnock in February and the Nationals are in Falkirk two weeks later.

Age Groups:
Cross Country age groups for Winter 2011/2012 are the same as the track age groups for Summer 2011.
Indoor League age groups are the same as the track age groups for next Summer 2012.
National Indoor events will use the IAAF age groups: U12 (2001/2002); U14 (1999/2000); U16 (1997/1998); U18 (1995/1996); U20 (1993/1994); SEN (1992 and before).
The Scottish Schools Indoor age groups are U16 (born on or after 01/09/96) and O16 (born before 01/09/96).
