Scottish Athletics inaugural National Indoor Open Meeting was held at Kelvin Hall yesterday, with the event replacing the Closed & District Championships of previous seasons.

As an open meeting for U15 to Senior athletes rather than a championship, there were no medals and heats were based on standard rather than age, giving athletes an informal early season opportunity to test themselves in competitive races.

Only two Livingston athletes were taking part, Jake Thomas and John McOmish.

Jake finished 3rd in heat 5 of the 800m in 2:13.02, which was the fastest u15b time of the day and an indoor personal best.

John throw 8.27m in the shot putt, which was the 4th furthest senior male throw of the day and also an indoor personal best.

Scottish Athletics are also holding an Indoor Open event for U13 athletes on Sunday 6th March. Contact Alistair to enter.
