Livingston athletes were out in force at the first race in the East District Cross Country League, held at Stirling University last Saturday.

In the under 11 girls race, Sarah Calvert put in an impressive performance to finish 9th, completing the 1.6K course in 6:31.

Fraser McLean was 45th in the under 13 boys race, completing the 2.8K course in 15:58.

The under 13 girls ran the same 2.8K course as the boys with Katie Marshall finishing 20th in 13:03 and Louisa Marshall finishing 24th in 13:22.

Calum McLean finished 30th in the under 15 boys race with a time of 13:50 for the 3.2K course.

In the under 17 mens race, Ruaridh McCusker completed the 6K course in 24:15 to finish 15th.

And in the senior mens race Steve Thomson returned to cross country action for the club, finishing 107th with a time of 36:22 for the 9K course.

The next round of the East District Cross Country League will be held at Broxburn on Saturday 20th November.
