West Lothian Council offer an annual sports scholarship for the local area's top athletes.

The sports scholarship pass scheme is designed for individuals who have represented their sport at district, regional or national level, or those who can demonstrate that they have the potential to compete at these levels.

For athletics, West Lothian Council primarily use the Athletics Data 2008 standards as a guide to eligibility for a scholarship pass. A full list of standards is available in the file below.

The sports scholarship pass allows athletes free use of facilities that are controlled by West Lothian Council or West Lothian Leisure, excluding access on club nights.

Anyone who either meets or is close to the performances standards, or who has represented their sport at district, regional or national level should apply.

Applications for a scholarship pass for 2010/11 close on 20th September 2010, and should be sent to scottishathletics:

Scottish Athletics will then validate the application and forward it to West Lothian Council.
