Four Livingston athletes were at Grangemouth last Friday and Saturday where they were representing their schools in the Scottish Schools Track & Field Championships.

All four athletes put in fantastic performances, with 5 personal bests, 3 medals and 2 club records!

In the under 14 girls discus, Megan Laing threw a personal best of 24.01m to finish 3rd, winning a bronze medal and smashing the club discus record again.

Jake Thomas was competing in the under 14 boys 800m. Jake ran a sensible 2:17.95 to finish his heat in 2nd place and qualify for the final, in which he gave the performance of his life, running 2:12.14 to finish 2nd and win a silver medal.

In the under 17 mens events, Scott Henderson was competing the 100m and long jump. In his 100m heat, despite running into a headwind, Scott set a new personal best of 12.05, narrowly missing qualification for the semi finals. In the long jump Scott finished 5th overall, smashing his pervious personal best with a jump of 5.79m!

Vicky Dalziel was competing in the under 17 womens 300m and shot putt. Vicky finished her 300m heat in 3rd place in 45.10, her second fastest time this season. Vicky saved her best performance of the weekend for the shot putt, with a personal best throw of 9.87m securing her a gold medal and beating her own club record.
