Edinburgh & Lothian Trials - Results

Nine Livingston athletes were at Meadowbank Stadium, Edinburgh, last Sunday to get some early season racing practice at the Lothian & Borders Trials, in which the u11/u13 100m and long jump were also held as Lothian & Borders Championship events.

In the under 11 girls events, Chloe McAlear and Stephanie Rooney were competing outdoors for the first time. Their highest placings where in the 200m where Chloe finished 1st (34.36) and Stephanie finished 3rd (36.15). In the long jump Chloe was 4th (2.81m) and Stephanie was 5th (2.73m), and Chloe narrowly missed a medal in the 100m with a 4th place finish (16.19).

Megan Laing achieved 3 personal bests out of 3 events in the under 13 girls competition with 1st place finishes in the 800m (2:41.62) and discus (22.55m), and a 2nd place finish in the long jump (3.84m).

Megan's 2nd place long jump finish won her a Lothian & Borders Championship "medal", as did Elliot Stanton who narrowly missed a personal best with a jump of 3.58m to finish 2nd in the under 13 boys long jump.

John McOmish also managed to achieve two personal best in the senior throwing events with distances of 23.69m in the discus and 20.21m in the hammer.
