The Scottish East District Championships take place on the weekend of Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May at Grangemouth Stadium.
For athletes who have been competing regularly in other events, this is a chance to test yourself against the best athletes in the East of Scotland!
Standards
For Scottish Championships, the club will submit entries and will pay the entry fees for athletes, subject to a few conditions.
Athletes should have been competing already this season and have reached the club's minimum entry standard.
The entry standards are a guide for parents/coaches when deciding whether to enter an athlete, to ensure that Scottish Championships are an appropriate level of competition for the athlete.
Events
A provisional timetable and event listing are available below.
As this is a District event with potentially multiple heats and rounds, at which athletes should be focussing on competing in their strongest events and giving their best possible performance, the club will pay for a maximum of two events, and a third event would be chargeable.
Depending on the timetable, it may only be feasible to compete in one or two events, so please check the provisional timetable when considering what events to enter.
U13 and U15 athletes can only compete in one of the 800m or 1500m, and can do a maximum of two track events.
If you are unsure about events, please discuss entry with your coach at training.
Parent Helpers
Scottish Athletics have requested that each club provides three volunteers to assist the officials at this event.
Please add a note to the availability form if you can help.
Age Groups
The meeting is open to male and female athletes in age groups from Under 13 to Under 17.
U13: Born 01/09/2011 - 31/08/2013
U15: Born 01/09/2009 - 31/08/2011
U17: Born 01/09/2007 - 31/08/2009
Entry
As there are limited places available, please enter as soon as possible to secure your place.
Club entries will close at midnight on Friday 19 April. No late entries will be accepted under any circumstances.
Under 20/Seniors
Unfortunately Scottish Athletics are not providing District Championships for Under 20 or Senior athletes now.
They are instead offering an Open Meeting series on the same weekend for Under 20 and Senior athletes, with sprints and jumps at Grangemouth and endurance and throws at Kilmarnock.
Under 20 and Senior athletes wishing to compete in the Scottish Athletics Open Meeting should enter themselves via the Scottish Athletics website.
