Back in December, just 12 days before Christmas, twenty nine Livingston athletes headed through to Glasgow for the first match of the Scottish Athletics Indoor League.

Four club athletes achieved a top 3 placing in the overall results. In the girls events Gemma Hummerstone was 3rd in the u13g 60m hurdles, her first hurdles race, crossing the line in 11.70s; and in the u17 events, Vicky Dalziel was 2nd in the 60m hurldles with a time of 10.11s and 1st in the u17w shot putt, throwing a massive personal best of 9.75m.

In the boys events, Jake Thomas also managed two top 3 placings and two personal bests! Jake was third in the u15 400m with a personal best of 63.6, and 2nd in the u15 800m with another personal best of 2:20.2. Scott Henderson was also on top form, finishing 2nd overall in the u17 60m with an impressive personal best of 7.58s.

Seven other athletes also achieved personal bests; Chloe French ran 9.85s in the u13g 60m; Latasha Kirimbai threw 5.59m in the u13g shot putt; Ben Fulton jumped 2.87m in the u13b long jump; Daniel Fulton ran 2:11.8 in the u17m 800m; Robbie Nairn ran 8.37s in the u15b 60m; Shawn Wright ran 11.28s in the u17m 60m hurdles, which was not only a personal bests but also a club record; and Mhairi Horn managed three personal bests in the u15g events with performances of 12.96s in the 60m hurdles, 1.05m in the high jump and 5.29m in the shot putt.

There were also eight athletes competing for the club for the very first time, well done to Frank Speirs (u11), Ewan Ballantyne (u11), Kieron Horrocks (u13), Harrison Box (u15), Calum Gregory (u15), Chris Box (u17), Chloe McAlear (u11) and Stephanie Rooney (u11).

In the overall team placings, the u15 boys team finished 4th, the u17 mens team finished 3rd and the under 17 womens team also finished 3rd.

Vicky Dalziel was also one of only ten athletes highlighted by the league organisers as an "athlete of the match" for obtaining as least 90% of the points available in the events in which they competed. In her three events, Vicky scored 55.5 points from a maximum of 60 (92.5%).
