 29 July 2023

Livingston AC para-athletes, Cameron Tweedie and Matthew Power, were in action last weekend at the inaugural National Summer Games for people with a learning disability, held at the University of Stirling.

Both athletes - representing team Lothian - enjoyed medal winning success; Matthew came first in both the 100m and 200m with times of 12.2 and 24.8 to scoop two gold medals.

Cameron gained his first silver in the 1500m with a run of 5:26.0 and continued his success with a fine performance in the 800m, also coming second in a time of 2:35.6.

There was a good turn out of competitive athletes for the first National Summer Games with teams from all over Scotland. Athletics was just one of the sports featured over both days of the weekend; others included boccia, football, indoor bowling, badminton, cycling, swimming and tennis.
