With the 2008/2009 season coming to a close, some of the club athletes have been taking advantage of the mid-week open graded meetings in a final attempt at improving their personal bests before the season ends.

Last Wednesday, five Livingston athletes were in action at Grangemouth in the final event of the Grangemouth Open Graded Series.

There were three personal bests; Craig McDowall ran 4:13.87 in the 1500m, taking just over a second off the PB set at Gateshead in July; Robbie Nairn jumped 4.31m in the long jump, adding 46cm to the PB set back in January 2008 at the Kelvin Hall Indoor Arena; and Megan Laing jumped 3.51m in the long jump, adding 7cm to the PB set almost a year ago at Perth.
