U13 SuperTEAMS Results

 15 August 2009

A Livingston boys team were competing in the Under 13 SuperTeams Championships today at Grangemouth, as part of the Scottish Athletics age group championships weekend.

The SuperTeams competition consisted of teams of four athletes, each competing in a 200m, shot putt and long jump, with a 4x 100m relay at the end of the day.

Well done to the four boys that took part; Robbie Nairn, Calum McLean, Elliot Stanton and Matthew Hummerstone.

Unfortunately, due to injuries, the four were unable to contest the relay, but there were some impressive performances in the earlier rounds.

The day started at 10am with the shot putt competition in which both Robbie Nairn, throwing 9.76m, and Calum McLean, throwing 5.39m, achieved personal bests. Elliot Stanton was trying the shot putt for the first time with a performance of 5.38m.

A total of 65 under 13 boys contested the shot putt, with Robbie's throw of 9.76m the second furthest throw in the entire competition. Robbie also added 21cm to the club record he set in June 2009 when throwing 9.55m at the final CSSAL match.

The next event was the 200m, with both Robbie Nairn (28.70s) and Calum McLean (32.30s) setting personal bests. Matthew Hummerstone (34.70s) was competing in his first 200m.

The final individual event was the long jump, with Calum McLean (3.38m) setting his third personal best of the day. Robbie Nairn (3.61m) narrowly missed beating the personal best of 3.67m he set in September 2008, while Matthew Hummerstone (2.93m) was competing in his first long jump.
