Youths Get Call to Kelvin Hall

Livingston and District athletes competed admirably at the Scottish Indoor League meeting at Glasgow's Kelvin Hall last Sunday (November 3).

For many of the club's younger athletes in the was their first opportunity to participate in competition at the indoor arena and for others it was their first competition in higher age groups, some having moved from under 13s to under 15s

It was a great day out for all and the club were rewarded with several excellent performances. A special mention, however, must go to the girls under 17 team of Kerry McKenzie, Lynsey Nicol, Stephanie Tugman and Lauren Prentice who had three first places, two second places finishes and five thirds to easily win their age group with a superb collective display.

Under 11 Boys - Bruce Johnston, 2nd, 60m, 10.02.

Under 13 Boys - Aaron Stewart, 4th, high jump, 1.10m; Aaron Stewart, 2nd, 200m, 32.9; Craig McDowall, 2nd, 800m, 2:45.1.

Under 15 Boys - Kevin McCann, 1st, 60m, 8.49; Michael Mooney, 3rd, 800m, 2:31.2.

Under 17 Men - William MacDonald, 1st, shot put, 5.09m; Colin Thomson, 2nd, 60m, 7.90.

Under 20 Men - Grant Forrester, 3rd, 800m, 2:11.0.

Under 13 Girls - Rachel McKie, 1st, 60m, 9.03; Rachel McKie, 1st, 200m, 31.5; Jill Rogers, 3rd, 800m, 3:00.9; Julie Brooks, 4th, 800m, 3:03.0; Sarah Rosie, 1st, 60m, 12.51.

Under 15 Girls - Kirsty Hunter, 1st, 60m, 8.42; Kirsty Hunter, 2nd, 60m hurdles, 10.59; Robyn McDowall, 3rd, 800m, 2:48.0; Lyndsey Barrett, 3rd, 200m, 32.2.

Under 20 Women - Carrie-Anne Tugman, 1st, high jump, 1.40m; Rosanna Mooney, 1st, 800m, 2:26.0; Lisa Roberston, 2nd, shot put; Keri Nicol, 3rd, 60m, 8.76.
