On the first weekend in July, Matthew Boules and Tia Henry were at the Aberdeen Sports Village for the Scottish National Combined Events Championships.
Congratulations to Matthew who won a bronze medal in the Under 15 Boys Pentathlon, and congratulations also to Tia who won a bronze medal in the Under 17 Womens Heptathlon.
Matthew set personal bests in the 80m hurdles, shot putt, high jump and a really gutsy 800m, finishing up with an overall points personal best of 2342 (a new Club record). It was a fantastic competition with the top 3 boys finishing within 12 points of each other. Matthew was a great competitor and did the Club proud.
Tia had a fantastic Saturday competing in the 80m hurdles, high jump, shot putt and 200m, with personal bests in the high jump and 200m, ending the day in 3rd place. Sunday started with a solid long jump performance, and despite feeling under par, she retained composure to complete the javelin and 800m, and retained 3rd place throughout. Great job Tia.
