Weekend Results Round-up

 30 June 2009

Most of the club's athletes that weren't off on summer holidays were at Grangemouth on Sunday for the final Central & South of Scotland Athletic League match, but a couple of athletes were also competing elsewhere over the weekend:

On Friday night, Tina Miller (pictured) returned to Calderglen Country Park for the annual Calderglen Harriers 10K trail race. On what was a tricky course with a massive uphill start, narrow trails and constantly undulating terrain, Tina managed to better her time from last years event by 8 minutes to finish 31st fastest female in a time of 57:32.

On Saturday, under 13 athlete Megan Laing ventured to Inverness to take part in a Highland Athletics Open Graded meeting. Megan competed in three events; the 150m, the high jump and the discus; in which she achieved personal bests of 23.78s in the 150m and 1.15m in the high jump.

The most eagerly awaited results of the weekend are from Grangemouth, where the third and final CSSAL match of the season took place on Sunday, with the club hoping for a third win of the season to secure promotion back to Division 2. The final results are yet to be announced, but with numerous A/B wins and a strong finish in the relays, the club are definitely in contention!
