One of the first competitions of the summer season is the Edinburgh & Lothian Trials - an open meeting held at Meadowbank Stadium, Edinburgh, on Sunday 10 April.

Open meetings give athletes an extra opportunity to compete, and try new events or set personal bests, without the formalities of league/championship competitions. For any new members, these events are an ideal first competition.

Entries must be made in advance using the online entry form. There are no late entries or entries on the day.

The closing date for all entries is midnight on Thursday 31 March.

The entry fee is £3 per event which can be paid online via PayPal.

Age Groups

The meeting is open to male and female athletes in age groups from Under 11 to Seniors and Masters. Athletes must be at least 9 years of age on the day of competition.

U11: Born 01/09/2005 or later
U13: Born 01/09/2003 - 31/08/2005
U15: Born 01/09/2001 - 31/08/2003
U17: Born 01/09/1999 - 31/08/2001
U20: Born 01/01/1997 - 31/08/1999
SEN: Born 31/12/1996 or earlier
