Four Livingston athletes were in action last weekend at the inaugural Scottish Athletics Inter-Regional Championship events, held at Wishaw Sports Centre, with the U13 SuperTeams Championships and U15/U17 Closed Championships taking place on the Saturday, and the U20/Senior Inter-Regional Match on the Sunday.

Amanda Campbell (U20) was the club's sole representative in the Inter-Regional Championships, where athletes from Livingston & District AAC, Lothian RC, Central AC and Falkirk Victoria Harriers formed Team Central to compete against five other regional teams.

Amanda took part in her first individual 400m race, where she clocked an impressive time of 58.65 to finish the "A" string race in 2nd place. Team Central finished 5th overall with 288 points, while Team West Cost won the event with 467 points.

In the U15 Closed Championships, Scott Miller did the 100m/200m sprint double in what was his Scottish Athletics championship debut. In the 100m event, Scott managed a personal best performance of 13.36 to finish his heat in 5th place, narrowly missing qualification for the final.

After a five hour break, Scott was in action again in the 200m event. A strong performance in the heats, with a time of 26.91 and a 2nd place finish, put Scott comfortably through to the final, where a solid finish secured him 5th place overall.

Vicky Dalziel competed in the U17 Closed Championships, with her 80m hurdles competition taking place on the Sunday amongst the u20/senior events. Vicky finished 5th in the final, with her time of 13.22 being slighly slower than the personal best she set three weeks ago.

In the U13 SuperTeams competition, a potential girls team suffered from a lack of entrants, while the boys team fell victim to late cancellations. Megan Laing took part in a composite team that finished 11th out of the 26 girls teams, with her time of 2:57.67 in the 800m being a seasons best.
