Athlete Performance Incentive Program

 6 April 2009

For the summer 2009 season, the committee have decided to pilot an athlete retention scheme for under 17, under 20 and senior members.

The retention scheme has been designed to alleviate the high drop out rate of athletes in the 15-20 age range, as well as reward senior members for their continued support.

The basis of the retention scheme is a performance incentive program in which under 17, under 20 and senior athletes will be rewarded for every new personal best they achieve.

Personal bests at all performance standards will be rewarded, though those achieved at the various "Power of 10" levels will receive higher rewards, and the reward amounts will increase as the athlete's performance levels improve.

The reward structure for personal bests is as follows:

The committee have organised full 3rd party funding for the reward payouts, so the retention scheme will have no financial cost to the club.

Reward cheques will be presented to eligible athletes at the end of the season, at the annual awards presentation evening.

Please contact the club desk or email us with any questions or feedback.
