Indoor League Match 3 Review

 20 February 2009

The final indoor league match of the winter season was held on 8th February 2009, with 28 Livingston making, in most cases, their last journey through to Glasgow's Kelvin Hall for another 10 months.

Highlights in the female events included; the under 11 girls 600m races, with Taygan Henry finishing heat B in 2nd place in a time of 2:12.9, and Gemma Hummerstone winning heat A while setting a personal best of 2:02.1; Yasmin Eddie's 2nd place finish in the under 13 girls shot putt, adding 41cm to her personal best with throw of 6.14m; and Rhannon Armstrong coming 2nd in the under 15 girls high jump, equalling her personal best of 1.35m.

In the male events there were standout performances from Robbie Nairn and Scott Henderson. Robbie had two wins and two personal bests, running 29.9s to win the under 13 boys 200m, and throwing 8.44m to set what was then a personal best as he won the under 13 boys shot putt by over 2m. In the under 15 competition, Scott was also on top form as he won the long jump event with a personal best of 4.93m, adding 23cm to the personal best set in January at the indoor district championships.

Several other athletes also managed personal bests; in the under 13 girls 60m, Yasmin Eddie ran 10.45s; Mhari Horn ran 9.47s in the under 15 girls 60m; in the under 15 boys events, Andrew Boxall had a personal best double with times of 67.3 in the 400m, and 2:26.1 in the 800m; Leah Stewart jumped 1.42m in the under 11 girls standing long jump; Gavin Angus managed 1.32m in the under 11 boys standing long jump, bettering his previous pb set only in match 2; Morna Horn jumped 1.00m in the under 13 girls high jump; and Shawn Wright set personal bests in the high jump, jumping 1.35m, and in the shot putt, with a throw of 5.76m.

Well done also to Ryan Bouhaddou who was competing for the club for the first time.
