With the 4x100m relays drawing to a close, there were two Livingston teams in action in the 3x800m relays at the start of the afternoon session.

In the U15 Boys 3x800m heats, Alastair Marshall, Fraser Morris and Angus McDonald ran 7:16.66 to finish 3rd in their heat and secure a place in the final. The boys had a long wait for their final, with the race taking place after 7pm, but they ran almost 5 seconds quicker to finish the final 4th in 7:11.99, another club record.

The U17 Womens 3x800m team of Katie Craig, Charlie Maree Nolan and Courtney Moffat finished their straight final 9th in a club record time of 7:41.40.

The club also fielded teams in the U17 Mens 4x400m and U17 Womens 4x300m for the first time in a number of years.

It was a straight final in the U17 Womens 4x300m, with the Livingston team of Rebecca Calder, Abby Duncan, Sarah Calvert and Iona McDonald holding their own against the biggest clubs in Scotland to finish 3rd and collect bronze medals with the club record time of 2:51.99, which was also faster than the winning time from the 2016 championships.

The U17 Mens 4x400m team were also setting records, with Aidan Brady, Matthew Boules, Ricky Arthurs and Declan Wynne finishing their final 5th in a club record time of 3:43.58, taking over 6 seconds from the previous record set in 1996.

Well done to all the club athletes who competed, fantastic performances from everyone, and a special mention to Fraser Morris and Ricky Arthurs (and their parents) who endured a long day at Grangemouth to compete morning and afternoon at two different relay distances.

Thanks to all the coaches and team managers who helped the teams, both at the practice sessions last Monday and on the day: Billy Herron, Marion Fairley, Bob Douglas, Hugh Cameron and Julia Morris.

Thanks also Livingston AC technical official Pat Hockley who was on duty on Saturday, and to everyone who contributed photos. More photos available via links below.
