Club Captain Nominations for 2017

 16 March 2017

With the summer season approaching fast, we're now looking for nominations for male and female club captains for 2017.

With this prestigious role, you'll be able to use your experience as an athlete to help inspire the younger athletes and shape the future of the club.

Some of the expectations for the club captains are:
  • Act as a role model and set a positive example to other athletes
  • Encourage and support other athletes at training and competitions
  • Attend Forth Valley League and SuperTEAMS events to support younger club athletes
  • Provide athlete feedback to the management committee, with one of the club captains attending at least part of each committee meeting*
  • Help at club events if you're not competing
  • Regularly attend club training sessions and club competitions
Athletes aged 16 or over who would like to submit themselves for nomination should email a short candidate statement (approx. 100 words) to Alistair by Friday 31 March.

If you would like more information about the club captain roles, please speak to Alistair at training.

During April, all club members will get a chance to cast their votes online for their choice of male and female club captains, with the results announced later in April.

We appreciate that for older athletes, revision and exams are a priority over the next two months, and you won't be expected to attend anything that compromises that.

* Meetings are held on Tuesday or Thursday evenings every two months, so club captains would each attend 3 meetings per year at most.

Many thanks to our 2016 club captains, Alastair White and Hannah Mairs, pictured below at the U12 Indoor SuperTEAMS competition last year. Ally and Hannah have done a fantastic job over the last 16 months, raising the bar with their contribution as club captains.
